Hi, I’m Cecil—

I’m a producer, mix engineer, and sound artist based in Columbia, SC. I moonlight as the co-director of Indie Bits—a festival of independent Southern games & interactive media.

Over the past decade I have recorded and mixed everything from bedroom vocalists and electronic musicians to live bands and symphony orchestra. With dozens of projects shipped, I’ve worked in film, games, and installation art—emphasizing music production, mixing & mastering.

I’m also passionate about helping others learn how to tell their story through media. As a teaching artist, I run media production and audio engineering workshops through Richland Library, the University of South Carolina, and directly with clients. Most recently, I worked in collaboration with the MIT Media Lab’s Public Library Innovation Exchange to help youth and adults explore creative coding through Scratch and micro:bits.

My personal art explores the ways technology and socioeconomic stress fracture/reshape identity. It has been performed, screened, and released across the US, France, and Germany, from DIY basement shows to the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
